What
do you mean by "Colon Aerobics"? |
 |
The
gentle flow of water moving in and out of the colon exercises
and restores natural muscle contractions ('peristaltic waves'), making
the colon better able to remove fecal matter on its own. |

Why
would I need colon hydrotherapy? |
|
"Every
tissue is fed by the blood, which is supplied by the intestinal
system. When the intestines are dirty, the blood is dirty, and so
are the organs and tissues. It is the intestinal system that has
to be cared for first before any effective healing can take place."
Dr Bernard Jensen, Ph.D.
Unless
you are having a bowel movement for every meal you eat, you are
constipated!! When a person becomes constipated, the walls of his
or her colon become encrusted with accumulated feces, overburdening
the body's eliminatory system with toxins. Colonic hydrotherapy
allows these accumulated feces to be washed free from the body.
Therapy also strengthens the colon muscles and improves the peristaltic
wave motion of the colon. |

 |
Is
colon hydrotherapy safe? |
 |
Yes!
With today's state-of-the-art equipment colonics are known to be
safer than enemas. And an enema only cleans the lower part of the
colon while a colonic cleanses the entire length of the colon (all
5 1/2 feet).
Every
unit is sanitized after each use and the disposable rectal tubes
are used once then thrown away so there is no chance of contamination.
Note:
People with colon cancer, colitis, or severe diverticulitis should
not get a colonic while the condition persists. |

Can
too much water be pumped in during a session? |
 |
Actually,
water doesn't get pumped in, gravity does all the work, so the process
is very gentle. You are also in control of the flow and can turn
it on and off as you need to with a control button.
Because
the tank of UV-purified water sits just above the unit, gravity
pulls the water down through the tube and into the colon. If you
were to elevate your body just a bit the water would stop since
there would not be enough pressure to push it up into your colon.
Likewise as empty spaces in the colon fill with water eventually
there isn't enough pressure to fill it further until you expel something
(water, feces, etc.). |

 |
 |
 |
Is
colon hydrotherapy painful? |
 |
During
the procedure, water flows gently by gravity into the colon through
a slender plastic tube. Before starting the procedure, you insert
the tip of that tube a short distance into the rectum. You are in
charge of doing that for yourself and so you know you won't hurt
yourself. If you need assistance we can help.
Usually
any discomfort experienced is the result of resistance and tension.
A professional colon therapist is skilled at putting you at ease
and minimizing any possible discomfort. Most people actually enjoy
the unaccustomed sensation of feeling lighter, cleaner and clearer
afterward. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
Is
there an odor? |
 |
No!
All waste is drawn away by a separate strong stream of water (not
the water that goes into the colon, which is low pressure). |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
How
long is one session? |
 |
It
takes about 45 minutes to one hour to allow the water to flow in and
out of your colon. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
How
many sessions do I need? |
 |
We
have found that a series of twelve sessions is the most successful.
These twelve sessions are usually done on the following schedule:
two back-to-back the first week, two back-to-back the second week,
then once a week thereafter for a total of twelve. Many of our clients
return periodically to maintain the health of their colon.
You
should detox and cleanse at least twice a year on a bi-annual schedule
after your first set of twelve. |

 |
What
kind of equipment do you use for colonics? |
 |
The
colonics equipment used at Body Strategies s is new, state-of-the-art,
open-style system which uses a 3 stage filtered and ultra violet
light purified, gentle gravity-fed water with a small sterile disposable
rectal tube. The system can be self administering for those clients
who prefer complete privacy. In a 30-50 minute session as much as
12-15 gallons of water are used internally to gently flush the colon.
During
a colonic, one cup to two quarts of water is in the colon at any
one time. With the open system you eliminate whenever you feel the
urge so there is no pressure build up and you can stop the flow
of water whenever you wish until the end of your session. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
How
should I prepare for a colonic? |
 |
Eat
normally the night before but do not eat right before the procedure
(too much food or water can make you feel nauseous). It's okay to
drink a little water right before the procedure. |
